Cruse Bereavement Care is the leading national charity for bereaved people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies, and work to enhance society’s care of bereaved people.

We are here to provide bereavement support to any adult who needs it. Most of us, at some time in our lives, will be faced with the death of someone we love or care very deeply about.
When someone you love dies it can feel as though a piece of you has died too. But you donât have to go through it alone. We are here to support you through one of the most difficult experiences you will ever have to face through our telephone helpline, groups and one-to-one sessions.
Grief is a natural process, and most people will cope with help and support from family and friends. For those who need additional specialist help, Cruse offers:
Telephone Support
All referrals are managed initially on the phone. Trained volunteers will take information, talk to you about your bereavement and discuss with you how we might be able to help. If you are particularly distressed we can arrange ongoing telephone support though our partnership with The Samaritans.
Email Support
Just as with our telephone helpline, our email service offers emotional support, details of Cruse local services, and signposting to other useful organisations.
You can email the team on helpline@cruse.org.uk
Cruse Helpline emails are answered by our trained bereavement support volunteers - all using the pseudonym "Alex". We try to reply to every email as quickly as possible, but because we are a voluntary service there may be a short wait for a response.
Face To Face
Face to face services will vary depending on the area you live in but may include:
Children and Young People
Many of our branches offer support to children and young people. Find your local branch and contact them to see what is offered in your area.
Our website RD4U is a website designed for young people by young people. It includes information and forums where young people can share their experiences.
If you are a young person and someone you know has died why not send a private message to one of our trained volunteers at info@rd4u.org.uk who will reply to you by email.
If you want to talk to someone direct, call our FREE phone helpline on 0808 808 1677
