Overview

Many people experience difficulties such as anxiety, low mood and depression, which can lead to them feeling overwhelmed. NHS Bath and North East Somerset Talking Therapies practitioners are trained to help you understand more about these difficulties and suggest options that may help.

What we do

They also support people who are experiencing anxiety and depression related to:

  • Long term conditions (LTCs) such as diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic pain, coronary heart disease (CHD), asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or long covid. As the experience of anxiety and depression can increase the negative impact of LTCs on our daily lives.
  • Perinatal period: one in five experience emotional difficulties during pregnancy and after their baby’s birth.

When accessing a NHS Talking Therapies treatment, you can also access support with trained employment advisers to help you remain in work.

Where we do it

Depending on what treatment option is decided it may be:

  • 1:1 treatment sessions online, via telephone or face to face to suit individuals’ needs
  • Supported, self-guided online therapy programme
